The report on “Decent Work in the Green Economy – Business Cases from Turkey” prepared within the scope of the “Decent Jobs in the Green Economy” Project, conducted by the ILO Turkey Office in cooperation with ILO Green Jobs Programme and with the support of the Government of Flanders between 16 February 2013 and 31 March 2015 is published.
The work, which was conducted with a focus on different companies’ efforts on “greening” and “sustainability” within the frame of green jobs and sustainability concepts, was based on face-to-face interviews with different companies. It aims to contribute to the knowledge sharing and analysis that will lead into the shaping of inclusive green jobs strategies for decent work promotion in Turkey’s transition to a greener economy.
The study also showcases implementations and experiences of some selected enterprises during their transition period towards a greener business model while also providing an insight to the decision makers that enterprises could be en engine of this transformation thanks to their greening efforts and green employment they have created.
