Turkey’s good practices on organic agriculture met with Central Asian experts

OrganicAgricultureDevelopment of organic agriculture was defined as a priority area for technical cooperation of FAO with the countries in the sub-region. Currently, SEC is providing support to countries in the sub-region in improving the national legal framework and capacity building on production, inspection and certification and marketing of organic products.

With the support of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of Turkey and the Turkish Agency for International Cooperation, the study tour for the participants from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was organized in İzmir between 17-23 August to demonstrate the development and promotion of organic agriculture in Turkey.

The study tour program covered theoretical sessions and visits to farms and companies producing, processing and marketing organic products.
