UNIC Ankara met high school students in Istanbul

dogaLisesiOn 3 March, UNIC Ankara Information Officer visited Doğa High School in Istanbul and made a presentation on the priorities and ideals of the United Nations.

The event was attended by around 200 9th and 10th grade students who are very much interested in social responsibility projects.

Information Officer also explained the success of the MDGs and start of Sustainable Development Goals as of 1 January 2016.

The UNIC Information Officer briefed the students on the structure, priorities and ideals of the UN, UN reform, and the Peacekeeping Operations. An important part of the presentation was also dedicated to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and why it is especially important for youth to promote it. After the briefing, a question and answer session followed.

UNIC Ankara is in close cooperation with high school and university students to get their support for the UN work in Turkey and its global priorities.
