ILO launches entrepreneurship training

ilo-girisimcilikThe entrepreneurship training was organized in Hatay under the “Enterprise Support Scheme” under “Opportunities for Lives Project” implemented by ILO and Directorate-General for International Labour Force (UIGM) of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services. The training was attended by 120 participants.

The entrepreneurship training will be provided to 420 people including 340 Syrians under temporary protection and 80 Turkish citizens in Istanbul, Bursa and Hatay under the “Enterprise Support Scheme”.
Of the participants in the Scheme, those who wish to start own business will receive grants from ILO.

Various events are organised under the “Opportunities for Lives Project” implemented by ILO and Directorate-General for International Labour Force of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, and financed by the European Union.

Mentoring for participants

  • Following the training, 84 people to be selected from among those who wish to start or improve own business will be provided 8 hours of mentoring support. Participants who will have successfully started their business will be supported by mentors through the application for KOSGEB aids.
  • Selected candidate entrepreneurs will be given 32 hours of “Practical Entrepreneurship Training” and additionally 8 hours of “Local Business and Investment Climate Training” in line with the KOSGEB curricula; then consultancy and mentoring service be provided to help candidates prepare their “Business Plans” for submission to ILO and KOSGEB.
  • Of the participants in the Scheme, those who wish to start own business will receive grants from ILO. The amount of grants will be announced to the public in the future.
