International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was celebrated in Ankara
On 29 November at an event attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kıran, UN Resident Coordinator a.i. Karl Kulessa, Ambassador of Palestine Faed Mustafa and Arab League Representative Ambassador Faleh Majed Mutairi.
Kulessa read out the Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ message on the international day.
Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kıran, said that Turkey is determined to continue be in solidarity with and to support the just cause of Palestinian people.
Kıran, also read out the message President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s sent to Mr. Cheikh NIANG Permanent Representative of Senegal to the United Nations Chair of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian, on the occasion of the international day.
Ambassador of Palestine Mustafa said that Israil should stop the violence and occupation, should recognize the rights of others, and should not try to turn a political issue into a belief issue.
Arap Birliği Representative Ambassador Mutairi urged all sides to promote the two state solution as envisaged by UN resolutions.
Several video shows were also displayed to show the sufferings of Palestinian people.
