FAO: The 1st Technical Workshop Series on the “Support to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in SDGs’ Harmonization and Implementation” Project has kicked-off in Ankara

fao-sdgThe first workshop series of the ‘Support to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in SDGs’ Harmonization and Implementation” project run in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has kicked-off with an ‘SDG Awareness Raising Workshop” on 05 March 2019.

Following the welcoming remarks, Agenda 2030 experts coming from FAO Headqurters and Region offices delivered their presentations and responded the participants’ questions in an interactive mode.

Along with the three day technical workshop for ‘Capacity Building –on SDG Indicators under FAO Custodianship’, the stakeholders, particularly representatives from Turkish Statistical Institute, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning of Turkey, and professionals from other relevant state and non-state agencies, had the chance to better understand the SDG indicators under FAO custodianship, including FAO’s role on SDG monitoring and implementation, the methodology of each indicator, the data requirements for producing the indicators and the steps to be taken to satisfy these requirements within the nationalization process of SDGs.
