Cer_Modern_SergiUN Women organized “Orange Digital Stories” exhibition at Cer Modern Museum within the 16 Days of Activism campaign. The exhibition was launched on December 4 with the attendance of representatives from civil society organizations, academia, diplomatic missions, international organisations and United Nations staff. UN Women Programme Manager Zeliha Ünaldı made the opening speech of the event and said that UN Women is working for a future where girls live free of violence.

8 women and 8 men told their personal life stories based on the gender based violence that they experienced in the course of their daily lives. The stories are the deciphers of the oral violence the women and men participants of the workshops are exposed to. The workshops were conducted in the form of a story circle with eight men and eight women separately. Visitors could both watch and hear the stories at Cer Modern Museum. The videos are published at digitalstoryhub.org.

“Orange Digital Stories” are produced under the leadership of UN Women with the coordination of UN Turkey Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women Task Force in cooperation with Hacettepe University Department of Communications Digital Story Telling Workshop.
